Scoonie Penn returns to Italy, signs with Virtus Bologna

Multiple Italian outlets are reporting the impending signing of James "Scoonie" Penn by Serie A club Virtus Bologna. The 32 year old Penn has enjoyed an extensive European career that has included stints with Croatian & Greek powerhouses Cibona & Olmpiacos, as well stops in Turkey, Italy, & Serbia. His most recent team was BC Kyiv of the Ukrainian League. Scoonie's rookie year of Europlean play first started in Italy when he played for Euroleague team Virtus Roma.

Jamar Butler signs with new Greek A2 Club of Larissa

Earlier this week, The Hoop broke the possibility of Jamar Butler playing for a club in Greece. Greek media outlets have since confirmed that Butler has officially signed a contract to play for a newly formed Greek A2 team for the city of Larissa.

In his 2008/2009 rookie pro season, Butler played for Eldo Caserta in Italy's Serie A League, and Mutul Aku Selcuk Univ. in Turkey.

Official: Othello Hunter to attend Hawks Veteran Camp

Earlier this week the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Othello Hunter would indeed be attending the Atlanta Hawks fall camp in preparation for the 2009/2010 NBA Season. With the recent signing of veteran big man Jason Collins, the Hawks have came to a roster count of 12. If the reported limit of 13 players sticks, Hunter will be embroiled in a hotly contested battle to win the final roster spot for the Hawks.
