Hand Down, Man Down - Former Louisiana & Ohio State Guard Cedric Russell is currently in the latter stage of his second professional season. The native of New Orleans has already experienced the rigors of overseas basketball, having hooped in destinations such as Serbia, North Macedonia & Saudi Arabia.Russell played his rookie season in with club Tamis in Serbia before returning to the Balkans with MZT Skopje for the 2023-2024 season. He would then join Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia a little after the start of the calendar year (February) after mutually parting ways of Skopje.
Known for his long range shooting & overall scoring ability. The young pro seems to be getting well acclimated to the style of play overseas with some notable scoring nights already on his resume. After all, basketball is basketball, and a bucket getter is going to do just that. Cedric's early pro career high is from his rookie season..a 30 point game with Tamis on December 28, 2022. He came close to that scoring output a year later on November 3rd, 2003 with 25 points for MZT Skopje. Ceddy went 9 of 13 from the field, hitting 3-three point shots & grabbing 6 boards in Skopje's win over Ohrid AV. Cedric Russell also had six double digit scoring games in Adriatic League contests (ABA) as well.
