Mexico 2011 - Tony Stockman Returns to Professional Basketball!

He's Back! It seemed as if retirement was imminent for Media County Sports Hall of Famer Tony Stockman. However, huge news broke in the latter part of October 2011 when online reports out of Mexico, Brazil, and Ohio announced that Stockman agreed to join club Abejas de Guanajuato of the LNBP! Abejas (Spanish for Bees) is located in the Mexican municipality of Guanajuato.

Mexico - Tony Stockman, age 30, is very familiar with Mexico's top basketball league, the LNBP. Stockman had two stints with club Venados (November 2007 to January 2008 & fall 2008/2009..he additionally played for Nogales of the Cibacopa from January 2008 to the end of the 2008 season). In the 2008/2009 season, Stockman started in 45 games for Venados with an average of 18 points per game..his play earned a selection to the 2009 LNBP All-Star Game.


Due to the LNBP season beginning way back on September 1st, Stockman immediately found himself in crucial regular season games upon his arrival (Abejas was record 7-10 at the time). The former Buckeye and veteran of pro ball made his debut with Abejas de Guanajuato on October 27, 2011. Tony, wearing the jersey number six, scored 8 points with 5 rebounds & 3 assists in Abejas' 118-111 overtime victory over Lechugueros. Abejas is 3-2 since Stockman joined the club.
