(4.10.2011 - Cremona, Lombardia - Italy - Air Foster! - Former Buckeye Je'Kel Foster soars for sweet one handed dunk vs Air AV)
4.10.2011: Vanoli Cremona 89 Air Avellino 78 (Serie A Regular Season)
- Je'Kel Foster: 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals!
The Takeover: The Palasport Arena in Cremona, Italy was home to one of our favorite performances of the year on April 10, 2011.
Former Buckeye Je'Kel Foster led Vanoli Cremona past a tough Air Avellino club with an explosive 26 point performance! Foster (pictured left: laying it up vs Air AV), turned in perhaps his best game of the 2010/2011 season by hitting 10 of 13 shots from the field, including two three pointers and 4 out of 4 shots from the foul line. #23 also added 4 rebounds and 3 steals..one of the steals resulted in a super nice fast-break one handed slam! (pictured above)
Foster's game high performance helped contribute to a satisfying 89-78 victory against Air AV, a team that defeated Cremona by 14 in the previous meeting.
Top Competition: Je'Kel has consistently played against some of the top teams that Europe has to offer in the last two seasons.Video: (Short clips of Vanoli Cremona vs Air AV - Check out the steal & dunk in the opening seconds and the three at the end! Go Je'Kel!)
You may remember that Foster played with the defending Bundesliga Champions, EWE Oldenburg, in Germany last season (2009/2010). With Oldenburg, Foster participated in the German League and the prestigious Euroleague where they battled top teams from Spain, Greece, Italy & Poland. Je'Kel then moved on to the Italian Serie A for 2010/2011, one of the top national leagues in Europe in our opinion (every team is tough in Italy, especially clubs like Siena & Milano). Je'Kel Foster is definitely one of the elite Buckeyes in professional basketball.
