WNBA - The Indiana Fever Re-signed Jessica Davenport!!

Early February 2011 was home to big news when the WNBA's Indiana Fever announced the re-signing of Columbus, Ohio's Jessica Davenport. (according to the Fever, a multi-year deal)

From the Fever Website -
"The No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft and a three-time All-American from Ohio State, Davenport averaged 7.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and nearly a block a game during the 2010 WNBA season, despite just

over 14 minutes per game off the bench. The 6-5 center has steadily increased her playing time behind All-Star Tammy Sutton-Brown and carved a niche in the Fever lineup. She initially signed with Indiana at the beginning of the 2009 campaign and become a valuable contributor during the Fever’s run to the WNBA Finals"
Davenport (pictures left with Fever teammate Jessica Moore) is well experienced & traveled in five years of professional basketball. She has played in France & China internationally (WNBA off-seasons) , and is currently in Russia for the 2010/11 international stretch (the stints in France & Russia also include Eurocup runs where Jessica is traveling to other countries to play teams from different national leagues. Her Russian team is currently playing in the 2011 Eurocup Final four) .

Back home in the States (WNBA), her career has been on a steady upward trend, especially after touching down in Indianapolis where she has participated in two playoff runs with the Indiana Fever (including a finals appearance). Davenport made a lot of noise in the 2009 WNBA Finals, last season she backed it up with consistent high level play, and now she is currently playing like one of the top centers in all of Women's basketball (currently the 3rd best scorer in Russia, one of the top Women's leagues in Europe) Congrats Jess!
