Former Ohio State Buckeye & NBA Champion Larry Siegfried was laid to rest last week at the age of 71 in his hometown of Shelby, Ohio after succumbing to a heart attack. Siegfried was a member of the historic 1960 Ohio State National Championship team that reunited in Columbus in Spring 2010 for the 50th anniversary, he helped the Boston Celtics win 5 National Basketball titles as well.
We are much too young to have any substantive memories of Siegfried, but all of the accounts from the friends, family, and members of the basketball community describe a versatile & tough player, but an even better person who served as a motivational speaker in Mansfield, Ohio
A big Buckeye Nation Salute to the Siegfried family, rest in peace.
