NBA D-League: Harris Set For 2nd Stint in Erie, Mullens Assigned to Tulsa

The 2009/2010 NBA Developmental League season will have two former Ohio State Buckeye participants.

On November 18th the Erie Bayhawks made their final training camp roster cut before pre-season, trimming the D-league squad down to 12 players. As expected, the Bayhawks top returning shooter, Ivan Harris is among the final 12 to make the pre-season roster. The Bayhawks open the season at Fort Wayne on Friday November 27th.

Meanwhile in the Southwest, the Oklahoma City Thunder have recently assigned rookie Byron Mullens to their D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers. Mullens entered the fall Thunder camp as a developing young big man looking to grab some rotation minutes. However, Oklahoma city knows Byron still has a ways to go before he can consistently contribute productive minutes for the improving NBA franchise. Byron's first D-league assignment will be important as this is an opportunity for him to improve his game by logging considerable game minutes compared to just practicing with the Thunder. B3 will be following young Byron's progress throughout the D-League season. Tulsa opens their season with a home date against the Utah Flash on Friday November the 27th.

  1. Just to set the record straight, the final D-League rosters must be submitted by 5 p.m. Thursday, at which point they'll need to be down to 10 players. That said, I'd be shocked if Harris was cut as he figures to be a key contributor for Erie this season.
