The Villain is in the Building
October 27, 2010 - 7:20pm Eastern Standard time in Philadelphia, PA - This was the approximate time when Evan Turner checked in to his first ever NBA regular season game...on his 22nd Birthday. ET has stated in interviews that he tends to start off a little slow before finishing strong on every level of play. In the opening minutes of his career he missed two in rhythm jump shots, but Turner would stay patient, after all, who has time to worry about offense when you are asked to slow down reigning MVP Lebron James on defense?
Yet it was at 9:54 mark of the 2nd quarter when the former Big Ten Player of the Year grabbed a gritty, Ohio State type of rebound & put back to score his first career points and cement his game presence. The Sixers predictably wilted to the mighty Heat of Miami, but not without their own memorable moments..especially for Turner, who opened up some eyes in the 2nd half with aggressive, but poised play at the same time. A couple fearless drives & people were impressed, but one signature crossover later on superstar Dwayne Wade would grab the world's attention. And with that..the legend of the Kid Evan Turner began..
